The Pirates of Penzance

In September, Red Globe proudly collaborated with Eastwood Uniting Church Musical Society on their production of “The Pirates of Penzance.” This Gilbert and Sullivan classic brings a mix of humor, whimsy, and catchy tunes, telling the story of a young man’s comedic journey through duty, love, and mistaken identities, wrapped in a Victorian-era setting. Red Globe contributed front of house audio, video foldback, draping, and archival filming. Our audio team, led by Andrew Yager and assisted by Michael Clewes, Josh Adams, and others, skillfully managed the show’s sound with DPA Wireless Microphones for principals, and Que Audio microphones for ensemble members.

The innovative WaveTool environment was used for live microphone monitoring, a crucial aspect for a musical theatre production with a large cast and extensive wireless systems.

The creative direction of the show was expertly handled by Tim Keith, Sarah Keith, and Mia Keith, bringing a fresh yet faithful take on the operetta. Wayne Chee’s lighting design added an extra layer of vibrancy to the performance, complementing the production’s dynamic energy.
