Eastwood Uniting Church Musical Society wowed audiences with their vibrant, high-energy production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Red Globe Productions was proud to deliver an integrated technical solution across lighting, audio, staging, and video. This iconic musical called for colour, precision, and seamless collaboration—and Red Globe brought the full spectrum.
Bold Lighting for a Big Story
Red Globe supplied a full-featured lighting package that elevated the visual storytelling with theatricality and flair. The rig featured Robe T1s, Ayrton Rivales, and EK Lighting Alligators, with beam and effect support from Event Lighting Havocs and R3s. Clean front and key lighting came courtesy of ETC ColorSource 5 Fresnels and Spots, ensuring every performer was captured in their best light.
Powerful Audio for a Large Cast
Managing audio for a 54-person cast, live orchestra, and immersive sound design required technical precision. At the heart of the system was an Allen & Heath D-Live C3500 mixing console, paired with Dante Wavetool for live monitoring and RF management. A hybrid wireless solution combined Shure Axient Digital and Sennheiser EW-DX systems, with performers mic’d using a mix of DPA, JAG, and Que Audio headsets for optimal clarity and comfort.
The live band was supported with Allen & Heath ME-1 personal mixing systems, giving each musician clear, customisable foldback and contributing to the show’s tight musical cohesion.
Smart Staging and Live Video Integration
Red Globe provided Design Quintessence truss and decking, not only to support lighting and effects but also as key scenic and structural components within the set design. The inclusion of Blackmagic 4K and 6K cameras allowed for real-time video relay of the stage, conductor, and orchestra, offering performers and crew seamless visibility and coordination—particularly important for this high-tempo show.
Collaboration, Mentorship, and Excellence
From pre-production to closing night, Red Globe’s team worked hand-in-hand with Eastwood’s creatives and crew. Our team also offered live troubleshooting, tailored configuration, and venue-specific adjustments to ensure a smooth and professional outcome every night.
We’re incredibly proud to have supported Eastwood Uniting Church Musical Society in bringing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to life. This production was a true celebration of community-driven creativity, and a shining example of what happens when artistry meets technical excellence.
